Violet Town girls too strong for Nagambie

Euroa Gazette - - SPORTS -

Chelsea and Sarah worked hard and put the pressure over every ball making Nagambie work hard for every goal.

The girls adapted well to the game swinging from attacking players into defensive players when the time came.

The girls proved much too strong for Nagambie and came home with a comfortable win.

This was an incredible team effort by everyone.

The next game is the ‘Grand Final’ on Saturday, September 23. Best on Court: Chelsea Walsh C Grade Final score: Violet Town 37; Murchison 38

Going in as the underdogs, it was going to be a tough match.

The girls went in strong and determined and wanted to win more than anything.

Leading the whole game by four, it came to the last quarter and unfortunately the team fell apart.

At 32 a- piece, then the final siren sounded, the game went into overtime.

The girls gave everything they had but there was nothing more in the tank to give and they eventually lost by one. Full credit must go to all the girls. They should be so proud of themselves and the club is very proud of all their efforts.

Good luck to the seniors and under 17s for the next couple of weeks.

Best on Court: Hannah Sharp.
