Di­vi­sion two sneak home by two shots

WHAT an ex­cit­ing pen­nant match last Satur­day when Euroa di­vi­sion two played Shep­par­ton Golf at Euroa and the last bowl of the day re­sulted in a win to Euroa by two shots, the score re­sult 93/91.

Not so lucky for the other two sides, di­vi­sion three lost to Rush­worth and di­vi­sion five to Shep­par­ton Park.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to di­vi­sion two pen­nant skip­per Ken Sut­cliffe in his great win on the day.

He played his five hun­dred and fifti­eth pen­nant match for Euroa since com­ing here to live, th­ese be­ing played in ei­ther di­vi­sion one or two over the years – keep it up Ken.

This Satur­day, Novem­ber 11, di- vi­sion two are home to Shep­par­ton RSL, di­vi­sion three are home to Shep­par­ton Golf and di­vi­sion five are home to Seymour, so it will be a busy day for all at the club to host three pen­nant sides.

On Sun­day, Euroa were hosts to the Goul­burn Val­ley As­so­ci­a­tion sec­tion of the State Pairs and clubs rep­re­sented were Kyabram, Shep­par­ton Golf, Nagam­bie, East Shep­par­ton, Hill Top, Stan­hope, Rush­worth, Euroa and Shep­par­ton Park.

The games were sec­tional play and at the end of the day, two pairs will go on to the next round next Sun­day.

The win­ners of the Wed­nes­day bowls on Oc­to­ber 11 and 18 were J Wat­ters (s), G Redshaw, P Naylor and T Kingma (s), L Fis­cher and R Goldswor­thy.

As there is no mid­week pen­nant this week, we will have a so­cial day on Tues­day.

The cham­pi­onship en­tries close to­day, Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 8 so add your name to the lists if you wish to play.
