Euroa gets the win over ‘Murch’

AFTER losing the toss and being sent into bat, the Euroa boys were soon in trouble.
Jack McKernan was bowled for 10 in the fifth over, and brother Linc, was caught behind for five in the next over.
Five overs later Mitch Penman was caught for two, then Nick Brodie was bowled for eight in the next over.
After 12 overs Euroa were 4/27.
This brought two Violet Town recruits to the crease in Nate Abley and Ryan Jennings.
These two put on a valuable partnership of 104 in 14 overs before Ryan was caught for 28.
Another Violet Town (VT) recruit in Will Mackrell joined Nate, but 30 runs later Will was caught for 10.
Cam Frost didn’t bother the scorer.
The fourth of the VT recruits in Ross Withers joined Nate, and a 59 run partnership was put on before Ross was judged LBW for five.
J Wilson faced three balls before he was run out for zero on the last ball of the innings.
Euroa were 9/224 after 40 overs.
Nate Abley finished unbeaten on 150 in only 102 minutes.
The ball was sent all over the ground as well as the boundaries so it was a great innings.
After tea the Euroa boys took to the field.
Opening bowlers Cam Frost and Nate Abley bowled six overs each with Nate dismantling the woodwork in his three overs.
Linc McKernan and Will Mackrell were the next change of bowlers with each bowling five overs.
Linc took a wicket in his second and fourth overs.
At drinks Murchison were on a par with Euroa being 3/73.
Jack McKernan and Jye Bjorksten came on and Jack got two wickets in his second over with Ross Withers taking the catch.
An 80 run partnership was put on by Murchison.
Ryan Jennings, Nick Brodie and Jack Wilson all got a bowl.
Cam Frost came back on and a run-out was had in his second over back then with the last ball of the day Nate Abley stumped the batsman with Jack Wilson being the bowler.
Linc McKernan was the only bowler to get more than one wicket.
After 40 overs Murchison finished 6/155.
