Players in full swing for ‘Golf Month’

Phil Squires (18) motored around the course to score a very good 39 points to take out division two.
The presentations were not held at the end of the day so winners can collect their rewards next time they play in the competition.
Wednesday golf was a 4BBB par event with 37 golfers playing in the field including one player in a threesome.
The leading score of plus eight was pretty popular with Brian Rosenbrock and Keith Seeber winning the competition on a count back from four other pairs.
The other pairs included Mark Bowden and David Baker, Eric Sessions and Charles Arnold, Arthur Frost and Russ Denny, Bruce Demmery and Barry McIntosh making nearly a third of the field with the winning score.
This week is a big week for golf; in fact this month is a big month at the golf club with the greens back in perfect condition and the course playing well.
In fact October is ‘Golf Month’ and the club is hosting an open day on Sunday, October 21.

The Spring Tournament this weekend is the premier event for the month and members and visitors are asked to get their entries in as soon as they can.
Friday, October 5, is a Mixed Pinehurst sponsored by Euroa HealthSave Pharmacy, with 11:30am assembly for a 12noon shot gun start and $30 entry per team.
Saturday, October 6, is a 4BBB for men and for ladies sponsored by Burtons Supa IGA store.
The cost is $30 entry per team with the morning tee off, 8am to 9am and the afternoon tee off from 11:30am to 12 noon.
Sunday, October 7, is Men’s 27 Hole ScratchHandicap of three divisions sponsored by Ford McKernan Engineering with tee off from 8:30am and the cost is $30 entry per player.

The Wednesday stableford competition is on today and next week, on October 10, with an 11:30am tee-off for those who want a warm up before the tournament and a cool down after.
On Thursday, October 11, the Dalhousie Vets is being played at Seymour and on Friday, October 12, twilight golf hits off for the first time this season with further details in this column next week and hopefully on the club’s website.
On Saturday, October 13, it will be a stroke, monthly medal event and the first round of the club championship and being the monthly medal this includes the mega draw.
The remaining Saturdays in October and the first Saturday in November (including monthly medal) are rounds of the club championship so let’s get out there and make the most of this gorgeous Spring weather on a fantastic course.
