F1 ride experience

F1 Racing - - CAREER CROSSROADS -

Featuring at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival was the unique three-seater Arrows A21. It’s run by Formula 1 Rides NZ – which is good news for F1 fans in the antipodes, because the company has already begun offering ride days in the car in New Zealand, and will soon expanding to Australia. The car is adapted from one of the Arrows cars raced in the 2000 Formula One season by Pedro de la Rosa and Jos Verstappen, father of current Toro Rosso young gun Max Verstappen. For anyone unfamiliar with an F1 car from 2000, the Arrows is powered by a 3.5-litre V10 Hart engine with 536kW. With that sort of power, even with a heavier weight of 650kg (it was about 600kg as a single seater) it’s still capable of a theoretical top speed of 330km/h. The chauffer for what must be the world’s most exciting and fastest taxi ride is top Kiwi openwheeler ace Andrew Higgins. For more info check the website: www.formula1ridesnz.co.nz
