The longest circuit on the calendar, Spa is very light on brakes. The most challenging braking area is at the end of Kemmel Straight, which in 2000 featured a huge overtaking battle between Michael Schumacher, Mika Hakkinen and Riccardo Zonta. From start to finish, each driver applies a load of 50 tonnes on the pedal, which is the same weight as 7,700 musical instruments invented by Adolphe Sax, namely the saxophone.
