WHAT’S NEW ? Nico Hülkenberg arrives, having hoped to reconnect with Frédéric Vasseur, who guided him to F3 and GP2 titles. But Vasseur has quit as team principal. Ex-Red Bull man Pete Machin is now head of aero and Ciaron Pilbeam is chief race engineer, while engine boss Rob White relocates from Viry-Châtillon to Enstone as operations director.

F1 RA CING’S VERDICT Last year was all about restructuring, and that continues for 2017. It’s a long-term project, but Renault have the budget to score regular points.
