FACE TO FACE

F1 Racing - - HILL ON HILL -

This was the first British GP to be held at Brands Hatch. Hill passed Dan Gurney, who retired his Brabham shortly afterwards, and finished second to Jim Clark.

“This is superb. The photographer [probably Michael Tee, father of F1R’s own Steven Tee] is about three feet in from the track. That’s Clearways – and that’s what a racing car looks like without wings. I love Brands Hatch. It is one of the most beautiful race tracks ever made. It’s such an experience: there are a lot of off-camber corners, rises and crests. My Formula Ford lap times would have been pretty close to Dad’s in this picture!”
