Claas brings out new kit options for its Quadrant baler range

Claas is offering new equipment options such as high-end LED lights for its Quadrant square baler range.

Available for all 2018-delivered Claas Quadrant 5300, 5200 and 4200 square balers, customers are able to choose from high-end LED lighting, an integrated bale weighing system and a ‘pull-out’ knife drawer.

Claas Harvest Centre Jaguar and Greenline product manager Luke Wheeler says the bale weighing function should appeal to all farmers and contractors.

“Weighing takes place during the baling process, so there’s no delay in the baling operation,” Wheeler says.

“Individual bale weights – accurate to plus or minus 5kg even at speeds of up to 20km/h – are displayed on the ISOBUS control terminal in the cab,” he adds. “Bale weights can then be saved according to the job or paddock.

“Operators using the Claas Telematics remote monitoring system can also use this data to plot crop yield and bale moisture across the field.”

Wheeler says the LED lighting system makes use and maintenance while working at night: “It comprises seven high-quality lights fitted to key components of the baler.”

Already found on the Quandrant 5300 and 5200 models, the pull-out knife drawer is now available for the Quadrant 4200, which Wheeler says dramatically reduces the time required for a complete knife change from an hour to 15 minutes.
