Japan vs Europe
A shoot-out many have been waiting for is finally here, so which tiny terror rules, either on one wheel or two?
This month we have a real showdown on our hands. A scrap between two bikes that, on paper at the very least, should be as equal as they come. Power and torque are nearly identical, but both make it so differently. One is priced quite a bit higher than the other, but component quality then comes into play. We expect both of these bikes to take the lead, and lose it, more than a few times as we work through the test categories. The protagonists are KTM’s always hilarious 690 Duke and the new kid in the cheap naked middleweight arena, Yamaha’s MT-07. Both fill similar roles, yet are set apart in many ways, though we reckon this could be the closest Rider Cup we’ve had since its inception. Time to find out!
