OSCAR WORTLEY ‘ON-TRACK’ VIRGIN

Fast Bikes - - FEATURE -

I heard about the school when I went along to BS Bat Brands Hatch, as I was interested in having a trial day on a bike. Everyone I spoke to told me to go to Donington for the Ron Haslam Race School, so Ihad to give it ago. When I turned up I was shocked because the kit they gave us was actually goodquality and clean, and the bikes were new. I only thought this because I used to borrow kit from my friends, and in motocross it’s slightly different. The event was planned well and on time, which eases the nerves. I found it quite easy as I have done motocross before which I used to my advantage, but the instructors also made it easier as they guided you well with a speed fit for you while showing literally everything –even when to apply the brakes and when to turn. As theday got on I felt Iwas improving rapidly as we were concentrating on specific areas on the track, e.g. bends, straights and when to accelerate and slowdown, etc. By the end I felt alot more comfortable on the trackand loved it. Iwould definitely do it again as it was one of the best experiences I’ve had on a bike; especially the bit in the car park.
