Location: Bonneville, Utah Movie: The World’s Fastest Indian - 2005
Nope, it’s got nothing to do with how quick you can scoff a mutton vindaloo… although it’s still one of our Jules’ other favourite pastimes. A story made all the more amazing because most of it is true, The World’s Fastest Indian stars Anthony Hopkins as Kiwi hero Burt Munro and documents his struggle to get his modified motorbike (a 1920s Indian Scout) to Bonneville. As in real life, Burt sets a new land speed record of over 200mph, and that was way back in the 1960s on a bike that had a top speed of 56mph from the factory. He also liked to pee on his lemon tree… although apparently they made that bit up. Bonneville was also the location for the closings credits on 80s show Knight Rider - remember that one? Sadly we’re old enough.
BONNEVILLE! WE MADE IT MUM.
