Mix up your shampoos

Fast Car - - Lifestyle -

If you’ve got dandruff you choose Head & Shoulders. If you’re three months old your mum will buy Johnson’s and, if like me you’re a tad follicly challenged, you’re probably desperately hanging on to the belief that those new-fangled caffeine-infused jobs will soon have your barnet growing back. The moral of the story is get the right shampoo for your car too.

Products containing loads of silicone and shining agents are great for maintenance washes on glossy paintwork, but not so amazing if you plan on keeping any kind of matt finish. Other shampoos are super-powerful and used to strip off all your wax or sealants prior to polishing. So if you’re not willing to reapply all those LSP layers, they may not be the right choice. It’s all down to application. Every big car-care brand makes at least one formula, so you won’t have trouble finding the right one for you.
