Protect your wheels
Think about it. We spend all this time lovingly polishing and sealing our paintwork, but most of us will still admit to slapping a bit of wheel cleaner on our hoops, washing ’em off, and that’s about it. The trouble is, with all the grime and corrosive brake dust flying about, it’s probably our rims that need the most protection of all.
Generally wheel surfaces are painted or lacquered too, so a good coat of tough wheel wax or a specialist sealant will never go amiss. I know it’s ridiculously exciting when we get new brand wheels and we can never wait to whack ’em straight on, but it’s good practice to give them a good going over, inside and out, first. They’ll certainly stay in good condition for longer.
