BLAST FROM THE PAST
ISSUE 397 – AUG 2018
2 years and 25 issues ago… It was all a bit arty, like.
■ We don’t know what we loved most about the Porker cover star – the Flachbau kit, or the fact that it’s a full-on paint job, not a wrap. The word ‘both’ springs to mind.
■ 2500 quid, that’s not what Brendan’s MK2 TT cost, that’s just the road tax for one of these in Belgium. Bugger living there!
■ We love the minty Mk7 Fezza that head chef, Ryan O’Donoghue, cooked up here… can you see what we did there?
■ Worthersee, bollocks, thanks for reminding us. We were really looking forward to the 2020 show.
■ When everyone and their dog has a Liberty Walk Lambo, how do you stand out from the crowd? With an LB G37 of course… now that is rare!
■ How do you get 550bhp out of a 1-Series? Slap on a mahoosive blower obviously. That’s a lot of grunt for such a baby Beemer!
■ Speaking of rare motors, how often do you see a Z31 nowadays? Let alone a modified one? We had to go all the way to Poland to find this beast. And I’m glad we did.
