FORD AT GOODWOOD
Visitors to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year were treated to a mouthwatering array of exciting Fords, with the biggest crowds gathering around a pair of green Mustangs in the ‘First Glance’ paddock. One was a shiny new ’Stang in Dark Highland Green, offering 460bhp, Torque Thrust-style wheels and the iconic name ‘Bullitt’. And the other? Unbelievably, it was the actual 1968 fastback used in the movie Bullitt! Thought lost for years, Ford managed to track it down and are treating it to a world tour.
Another Mustang – this time a ’65 notchback – wowed the crowds with its Siemens autonomous technology, driving itself up the hill with Lord March sitting in the back. Vaughn Gittin Jr took to the hill in his 900bhp RTR drift Mustang as well as the Eagle Squadron Mustang GT, built for the show and to be auctioned off for charity. The imposing new Ford GT also tackled the hillclimb, as did the multiple rally-winning M-Sport Fiesta WRC. And visitors to the Ford stand got to have a close-up look at the new Focus. The marque brought along something for everyone!
