Field & Game Australia AGM
The 2016 AGM was held on November 26, 2016 at Attwood in Victoria.
Apart from the usual financial reporting, the National Office staff ran some short workshops on member retention and social media. Development manager Daryl Snowdon, along with Martin Smith from My Clubs My Scores, gave a demonstration of the new scoring system currently being trialled by a small number of branches.
Two small changes to the FGA Constitution were passed.
The first enables the eventual renaming of the Wetlands Environmental Taskforce (WET) to better reflect the conservation efforts of members, the second allows the creation of special, value-added memberships for those who want to provide extra support for FGA’S work.
A motion put forward by Sale branch for FGA to adopt the “divisional” grading system for clay target shooters sparked a lively discussion that recognised the need for a review but did not pass.
A majority of branches supported a proposal to contribute 50 per cent of branch member rebates so that the organisation can continue to promote the real story of Australia’s most surprising conservationists an protect our traditions.
