A field of 63 shooters nominated for the 100 target Bull & Feather event, which secretary Stuart Harris said it was disappointing as many more were expected considering the Zone competition was scheduled for the following day.

The Coomealla Memorial Sporting Club sponsored the event again and the weather was almost perfect for clay target shooting on both days.

Improvements to the shower block and camping area as well as the clubhouse were completed prior to the weekend to make the venue more attractive to the travelling shooter.

Two ranges were set and both presented some challenging, but shootable targets that catered for all levels of shooters. Automatic traps were used exclusively on all stands of both ranges. ‘A’ range had a variety of close to medium targets, with the odd longer range target thrown in. ‘B’ range contained more medium to long-range targets.

Several good scores were posted on both ranges across the grades, including one ‘possible’ by Craig Scheele.

Most shooters gathered to watch the shoot offs with most interest in the AA shoot off between four shooters who all posted a score of 85.
