Shooting for a cure
The main target for the annual Shoot for a Cure Ladies’ Day in the Northern Territory was to raise much needed funds for research into ovarian cancer.
The annual shoot is a joint venture between Northern Territory Field & Game and the SSAA Darwin branch.
The event, which started three years ago, was held on June 3, attracting 194 women and raising $9803 for Ovarian Cancer Australia.
Support for the event has grown over the years with many local businesses donating prizes for the raffles and a silent auction.
The Ladies’ Day originally started as a way to get more women into shooting but has developed into a spectacular fundraiser that also educates women on shotgun and pistol safety and shooting skills.
