Branches get life-sav­ing equip­ment

Seven Field & Game Aus­tralia branches have new de­fib­ril­la­tors being de­liv­ered thanks to the lat­est round of the Vic­to­rian Gov­ern­ment’s De­fib­ril­la­tors for Sport­ing Clubs and Fa­cil­i­ties Pro­gram.

A de­fib­ril­la­tor pack­age has been ap­proved un­der the scheme for

Caster­ton, Clunes, Bendigo, Moe, Sey­mour, Sun­raysia and Western­port.

A per­son’s chance of survival de­creases 10 per cent ev­ery minute with­out de­fib­ril­la­tion after they’ve suf­fered a car­diac ar­rest.

Suc­cess­ful ap­pli­cants re­ceive an Au­to­mated Ex­ter­nal De­fib­ril­la­tor Pack­age, which in­cludes a high-qual­ity de­fib­ril­la­tor, some ba­sic train­ing and a min­i­mum of five years of es­sen­tial main­te­nance.
