Bryan is game for a Kubota RTV
Bryan Hawke couldn’t wipe the smile from his face when Field & Game Australia presented him with a magnificent Kubota RTV-X1120D valued at $27 387.
Bryan, a member of Geelong Field & Game for 20 years, didn’t even realise he was in the running when his membership was renewed during the competition period. “I didn’t do it, my wife renewed my membership, so it was a complete surprise,” he said.
Bryan used to belong to a number of organisations but these days is solely a member of FGA, recognition that it is the best fit for his interests. “I find it is a good group to be involved with and they do conservation; as a duck hunter, I believe conservation is important,” he said. “The Kubota will be wonderful. I used to walk two miles into some places to hunt ducks; I’ve done a lot of walking over the years, I started hunting ducks around Maryborough when I was 12 years old with my old man.”
Bryan’s other passions are flying light aircraft and fishing, so the Kubota RTV will get plenty of use.
“I will definitely use it around the airport and I will use it for fishing as well as hunting; because I can’t walk a lot it will be ideal and we still do a lot of hunting around Moulamein in New South Wales chasing pigs. “I have a couple of grandsons that are also very excited; I think they will use it more than I do.”
Bryan said hunting has been a lifelong passion and he takes a gun or two whenever he travels.
“I can’t get over how terrific this Kubota is, it is a magnificent machine. I will definitely put it to good use,” he said.
