The Sydney International Wine Competition is different to the norm because the judges do not taste the wine alone, they are judged with food, which is perfect for the wines we produce at Fowles Wines.

Our Are You Game? 2015 cabernet sauvignon was listed in the Top 100 of over 2000 wines entered and awarded the Blue Gold Medal and Kemenys Perpetual Trophy for Best Value Dry Red Table Wine.

2015 was in the top 10 warmest years on record in Victoria and the warmest year on record for our planet! Rainfall was very low. This combination of conditions produced red grapes of intense colour and flavour.

In the glass this wine is a dark inky red colour with some shades of purple. The aroma is full of ripe dark berries and lots of dark chocolate, with some subtle mint and smoky notes. The palate is full-bodied, rich with a juicy blackberry quality, a lovely soft finish, and great length.

You can reap the benefit of laying this bottle down for 10 years but if you’re cooking great wild food why wait!
