A few fast facts about dream wife

Punk music helps them question the status quo. Alice Go:

For all three of us, punk has been an opportunity to rewrite the rulebook. We’re unapologetic about doing what we do the way we want to do it. We draw from punk’s sonic language of rebellion, the power of the rock show and the energy and solidarity in that. They’re not completely buck-wild, though. AG: People often think we’re really hardcore. We love to rock out, but we also like reading books and meditating. They make fast friends. Bella Podpadec: In Minneapolis, we met a guy in a bar and invited him to the show. Afterwards, he said it was the first rock show he’d been to, and also the best and last (because nothing could compare). He showed us his back tattoo featuring everything important to him: his brother, his daughter and money. Then he got us to sign our names on his body and said he would get them tattooed in memory of the best show of all time. They have odd jobs in their history. AG: Bella once worked as a housekeeper at a Holiday Inn, and I used to be a moderator for a children’s TV show website. There were so many dramas and cyber brats on those forums – just really funny drama from kids.

Everything kicked off at art school. AG: As a teenager, I was a loner. I connected with people by making music, but I felt isolated until I moved to Brighton to study art. That’s where we later formed Dream Wife. They’re burgeoning scientists. BP: If we could invent one thing, it would be something that takes in carbon and spits out clean, breathable oxygen. Something that takes only water, sun and a few minerals from the Earth and transmutes it into food, shelter, hope and community. Oh, wait, that’s a tree.
