Tinana school tops eco comp
TINANA State School has become the first school in Australia to receive a green flag award for its environmental work.
The school received the award for its work with the Eco-Schools program.
Eco-Schools is a sustainability program organised by Keep Australia Beautiful.
Year 6 student and sustainability captain Bonnie Quinn-Hennessy said it was a great experience to receive the award after years of planning and hard work.
The school will be presented with the flag on November 28 at 9am.
