Ti­nana school tops eco comp

TI­NANA State School has be­come the first school in Aus­tralia to re­ceive a green flag award for its en­vi­ron­men­tal work.

The school re­ceived the award for its work with the Eco-Schools pro­gram.

Eco-Schools is a sus­tain­abil­ity pro­gram or­gan­ised by Keep Aus­tralia Beau­ti­ful.

Year 6 stu­dent and sus­tain­abil­ity cap­tain Bon­nie Quinn-Hen­nessy said it was a great ex­pe­ri­ence to re­ceive the award after years of plan­ning and hard work.

The school will be pre­sented with the flag on Novem­ber 28 at 9am.
