Truth about trains

Fraser Coast Chronicle - - NEWS | OPINION -

IN RESPONSE to the letter regarding the trains in Maryborough, published on November 14, I would like to address some of the misrepresented facts relating to the Indian-built trains.

Unfortunately, the premier and the Labor Party have not presented all the true facts about the new trains.

Firstly, Anna Bligh was the premier and Annastacia Palaszczuk was the transport minister who released contracts to tender to build the trains.

The Australian company Downer pulled out of the running for the tender to build the trains, which left no Australian companies bidding for the contract.

What we see now is the Indian train debacle caused by many lengthy delays to the order, which can be sourced from Labor’s transport minister Jackie Trad, who had made design changes to the new trains.

These are the true facts about the Indian train debacle and all the real information sources are available from the included references.
