Fraser Coast Chronicle - - GOLF/BOWLS | SPORT - KEVIN LAW

THE last Monthly Medal for the year was played for on Saturday and C Grader Mark Donaldson shot a great score of 65 nett on slow and sandy greens.

He won by four shots from Steve Reid. Matt Hancock won A Grade with 70 nett from Leon McKay on 71 and B Grade went to Peter Baker with 68 nett from John Dockery on 70.

All Monthly Medal winners for the whole year will now go into the Medal of Medals play off in a fortnight’s time.

The ladies also played their final Medal round and Anne Eastwell shot a good score of 71 nett for the win from new member Kirsty Thys on 74.

Sunday’s Tinana State School Fun Day Ambrose was once again a great success. A non golfing team of Luke Goldenstein, Grant Ollett, Brent Trevathum and Gilbert Summers had the best score shooting 52 2/8 nett for a 3/8 shot win over the local Sportspower team.

The golfing team award went to Peter and Coral Baker and Doug and Gayle Burrows with 55 ½ nett.

It was great to see a lot of new faces on the course and in the clubhouse for presentations.

This event has now been running for 10 years and a big congratulations should go to school Principal David Burns and his P & C committee.

There were helpers everywhere and they kept everyone well fed and watered.

This weekend is Teachers weekend where there is a Single Stableford for both days.

The following Sunday is the Presentation Ambrose which is the day when we celebrate all of our Honour board winners for the year.

The Club has set a price of $35 which includes your golf and a meal. Hit off is at 8am shotgun start.
