IN THE first three weeks of

2018 the RACQ LifeF­light heli­copter has been sent on six res­cue mis­sions to Fraser Is­land.

The Bund­aberg based res­cue heli­copter ar­rived at the World Her­itage-listed is­land for the sixth time on Sun­day morn­ing af­ter a full 4-wheel-drive rolled on the beach.

Queens­land Am­bu­lance Ser­vice paramedics treated in­jured oc­cu­pants at the scene un­til aero med­i­cal crews ar­rived.

A young woman suf­fered up­per body in­juries in the rollover and was air­lifted to Her­vey Bay Hospi­tal in a sta­ble con­di­tion.

The Fraser Is­land res­cue added to an al­ready busy week­end for LifeF­light with five pri­mary mis­sions com­pleted across south east Queens­land in less than 48 hours.

The pe­riod be­tween 2016-2017 was a record year for LifeF­light for life­sav­ing mis­sions with its aeromed­i­cal crews, com­mu­nity he­li­copters and Air Am­bu­lance jets per­form­ing a record 5,342 mis­sions through­out Queens­land and around the world.
