City leave it to very end
A LAST-minute penalty has helped Cockburn City snare a draw from the jaws of defeat against Joondalup United on Saturday afternoon.
Joondalup hit the front through a penalty in the 34th minute and looked like running away with a win until the 93rd minute, when Cockburn’s Jesse Lazzaro found himself on the end of a sliding tackle that the referee deemed reckless, awarding the visitors a penalty.
Harry O’Brien was able to guide the ball past the keeper. Cockburn coach Scott Miller said the penalty was justified.
