EAST Fre­man­tle is just per­cent­age from ris­ing off the bot­tom of the WAFL ta­ble af­ter a 16-point win over Perth on Satur­day.

It was a great Satur­day for Fre­man­tle’s top-tier state foot­ball sides, with South Fre­man­tle con­sol­i­dat­ing second po­si­tion with a 40-point vic­tory over Swan Districts.

The Sharks went goal­less in the last term but were good enough to hold off Perth for a second time at East Fre­man­tle Oval this sea­son, 11.7 (73) to 8.9 (57).

Matthew Wat­son kicked a sea­son-high four goals to lead the Sharks to the win, with Sean Hen­son tal­ly­ing 32 dis­pos­als.

For Perth, Clint Jones recorded 36 dis­pos­als and Cody Ninyette kicked two goals.

Across town, the Bull­dogs recorded win num­ber 11 for the sea­son af­ter dom­i­nat­ing the Swans at Fre­man­tle Oval, 15.13 (103) to 9.9 (63).

Bull­dogs for­ward Corey Dell’Olio kicked three goals and Steven Ed­wards had 24 dis­pos­als and for the vis­i­tors, Taryce Ste­wart kicked three ma­jors and Tony Notte notched up a team-high 23 dis­pos­als.
