EAST Fremantle is just percentage from rising off the bottom of the WAFL table after a 16-point win over Perth on Saturday.
It was a great Saturday for Fremantle’s top-tier state football sides, with South Fremantle consolidating second position with a 40-point victory over Swan Districts.
The Sharks went goalless in the last term but were good enough to hold off Perth for a second time at East Fremantle Oval this season, 11.7 (73) to 8.9 (57).
Matthew Watson kicked a season-high four goals to lead the Sharks to the win, with Sean Henson tallying 32 disposals.
For Perth, Clint Jones recorded 36 disposals and Cody Ninyette kicked two goals.
Across town, the Bulldogs recorded win number 11 for the season after dominating the Swans at Fremantle Oval, 15.13 (103) to 9.9 (63).
Bulldogs forward Corey Dell’Olio kicked three goals and Steven Edwards had 24 disposals and for the visitors, Taryce Stewart kicked three majors and Tony Notte notched up a team-high 23 disposals.
