WA strike national table tennis gold
FOUR teenage girls left WA to compete in the 2017 Australian Junior Table Tennis Championships and all four returned as gold medallists .
Katy Valentine, Holly Nicolas, Mia Zou and Fremantle Table Tennis Club’s Jacqueline Budiarto took out the under-18 team competition undefeated where they beat the best young talent from all over the country.
Fourteen-year-old Jacqueline said she was really happy with how she played in the national competition.
“It was my first time playing in the National Championship representing our state, and I performed well in the tournament,” she said.
“I felt great, happy and ready for more challenging championship to come in the futuremore responsibility for me to train harder to achieve something greater in the future.
“I wish to represent Australia one day in the Oceania Championship or Commonwealth Games or Olympic Games in the next few years.
“My current goal is to be one of the top women players in the state, then I can move forward to achieve my dream in the future.”
Fremantle Table Tennis Club is based out of the Samson Recreation Centre.
