Help name guide dog pups

Fremantle Gazette - - STREET WATCH -

WHETHER it’s something popular like Rover or Fido or something a little different like Porcupine or Pancake, a group of guide dogs in training need names.

Guide Dogs Australia has partnered with Battery World O’Connor to give locals the chance to name one of its puppies for a $2 donation.

Suggestions will then go into a national draw.

Glen Bracegirdle said he was not surprised to learn his guide dog Bronny’s name meant blessed.

“Bronny is such a great name and suits her nature too,” he said.

“She is my eyes and often my ears, especially with electric cars that are a nightmare for blind people.

“She’s my best friend and I trust her more than I trust most people.”

Battery World franchisee Noel Brennan said a name with two syllables was usually best.

The competition close on October 21. will
