FUTURE FORETOLD

Fremantle Gazette - - AROUND THE SUBURBS -

JOHN Curtin College of the Arts students tried their hands at predicting the future during a recent Scitech event.

The Picture Perth project invited students from five high schools to create a video that would not only tell the story about how Perth was changing but to also predict what it might be like in the future through the use of Census results.

Scitech science officer Leon Smith said the John Curtin video focused on renewable energy, gender pay gaps and equality in parliament.

“All the teams explored very different aspects of the Census data and it provided a well-rounded and interesting look into our history and the potential future of Perth,” he said.

“The students worked very hard and the project proved to be a valuable learning experience for all.”
