Get mak­ing pop­pies

LO­CALS are in­vited to join in the cre­ation of thou­sands of cro­cheted or knit­ted pop­pies be­fore Re­mem­brance Day.

As part of the 100-year com­mem­o­ra­tion of the end of World War I, the Aus­tralian War Memo­rial is cre­at­ing a large scale in­stal­la­tion of 60,000 hand-made pop­pies, each rep­re­sent­ing one of the lives lost dur­ing the war.

With 20,000 al­ready made, lo­cals are in­vited to join in and help to cre­ate the com­mem­o­ra­tive pop­pies.

The 5000 Pop­pies Project work­shops will be held on Oc­to­ber 4 and Novem­ber 1 at Work-Shop Fre­man­tle, 15 Mrs Triv­ett Place.
