Hughes Medal to Schloithe in stel­lar year

HAIDEN Schloithe has capped off a stel­lar 2017, win­ning South Fre­man­tle Foot­ball Club’s WJ Hughes Medal.

It is the sec­ond time the 24-year-old has taken out the club best and fairest ac­co­lade, also pick­ing it up in 2014, and it comes af­ter win­ning the San­dover Medal and be­ing named in the WAFL team of the year.

Schloithe fin­ished ahead of Tim Kelly and Dy­lan Main in the medal count af­ter tak­ing out the Player of the Fi­nals and S&D Jew­ellery Award for Out­stand­ing Per­for­mance ear­lier that night.

Blaine John­son won the John Gerovich Tro­phy as lead­ing goal­kicker, while Matthew Parker won the Best First Year Player award.

Jar­rod Parry won the Roy McGuin­ness Medal for be­ing the re­serves best and fairest, ahead of Jake Florenca and Josh Col­lard, while Glenn By­ron did the same for the colts, beat­ing out Matthew Ward and Bruno Faulkner. SUP­PORTED BY LUX MO­TORS
