Cafe culture and beach for Kara

Fremantle Gazette - - #SNAPPERTH - Bruce Hunt

It’s the people who make our community great, and it’s people who give life to our photo stream. Let’s celebrate the fine folk who make our lives what they are by photographing them in the lead-up to #SnapPerth Day on November 22. Such people are everywhere – it may be the hip barista who gets you going in the morning, the caring under-9s netball coach, a talented street-corner busker or even a celebrity you were lucky enough to score a selfie with. FREMANTLE AFLW captain Kara Donnellan enjoys her coffee and beaches during her time off the footy field.

Donnellan (25), also the Swan Districts’ Women’s captain and V Swans high performance and justice manager, said she loved the community aspect of Bassendean over the five years she had been at the club.

“The footy club is very inclusive, all about equality and it is good to see them treat their women just like their men,” she said.

“There are a few little good coffee shops: Holly Rayes is a good one and Bamb bino’s, the drive through coffee, I usually get that every morning.

#SnapPerth is all about celebrating and sharing what we love about the city we live in, so remember, once you snap, you have to hashtag and share. ■ Snap the photo ■ Hashtag #SnapPerth ■ Share on Instagram or Twitter

“I think Bassendean ticks all the boxes.”

When training at Fremantle Oval, Donnellan likes going to the Fremantle Markets and her favourite coffee shop in Fremantle, Hush Coffee.

“I love the food, love the culture and love everything about Fremantle as well,” she said.

The Willetton resident said in her free time she either visited beaches or watched Netflix at home.

“If I am not coaching, playing or training, I just try to relax down at the beach and soak up some sun,” she said.

“I like Leighton Beach, South Beach, even Coogee and Cottesloe, but you can’t go past Scarborough.”
