Firey happy to help PMH

Fremantle Gazette - - STREET WATCH -

USED to wearing his uniform to fight fires, Andrew Strunk has donned it for another cause, albeit minus a piece or two.

The Fremantle firefighter was selected to be ‘Mr April’ in the 2018 Perth Firefighters Calendar, an annual fundraiser for children in Princess Margaret Hospital’s burns unit.

Mr Strunk said he was humbled by the opportunity to take part in the popular Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation fundraiser, especially after witnessing the important work done helping sick and injured children.

“While completing a shift with the Radio Lollipop program at PMH last year a family member actually came through the front doors and I got to see first-hand the impact of better medical facilities for children in their hour of greatest need,” he said.

“It's a fantastic cause and I'm really happy to see the brigade and many of my close mates giving their support for this very meaningful and fun fundraiser.”

The calendars are $15 and are available from www.shop.pchf.org.au.
