SHOWCASE OF WA STYLE
PERTH’S fashion set turned out to enjoy the unveiling of this summer’s Fashion Council WA’s Swim and Resort Series at The Shorehouse last week.
The launch revealed a line-up of events that will take place over Perth on November 25 and 26. They will celebrate WA’s beachside and riverside lifestyle at venues including Point Fraser Boardwalk and City Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
There will also be a free event at Claremont Quarter on Thursday, November 23.
MC for the launch, Nine News Perth presenter Emmy Kubainksi, said the event was a great way to kick off the Swim and Resort Series.
Fashion Council WA chairwoman Kate O’Hara, who stepped in for director Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan, said the event was a great way to promote WA and the fashion industry to local, national and international visitors.
Designers to be featured on the runway include Manning Cartell,
which will unveil its latest collection on day one. Returning to WA for day two is kaftan queen Camilla.
The designer, whose pieces have been worn by celebrities including Oprah, will be showcased after the WA Designer Runway event. This will feature eight local designers including Morrison, Amore and Sorvete.
Tourism Minister Paul Papalia said the event provided a great backdrop to show off Perth’s natural attractions, such as its beaches and the Swan River.
Harvey-Hanrahan is in Beijing for China Fashion Week supporting Ael’kemi and 33 Poets.
