JOHN Curtin Col­lege of the Arts is the lat­est Fre­man­tle school to gain Water­wise ac­cred­i­ta­tion.

It be­came the 571st Water­wise School in WA, recog­nised at a spe­cial cer­e­mony held dur­ing the re­cent Na­tional Wa­ter Week.

The Wa­ter Cor­po­ra­tion ini­tia­tive aims to ed­u­cate WA chil­dren and teenagers about wa­ter use and be­havioural changes to pro­mote con­ser­va­tion.

Other lo­cal Water­wise Schools in­clude Bea­cons­field, East Fre­man­tle, Fre­man­tle, Hil­ton, North Fre­man­tle, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, St Pa­trick’s, Sam­son, White Gum Val­ley and Win­ter­fold pri­mary schools, South Fre­man­tle Se­nior High School and the Hazel Orme Com­mu­nity Kinder­garten in White Gum Val­ley.
