Choir selection hits all the right notes
PAIR TO GO ON NATIONAL TOUR
ELIZABETH Mather and Sarah Bucchino will sing their way across the country about being selected in the Australian Girls Choir (AGC).
Hamilton Hill resident Sarah (13) said she was excited when she was selected for the national tour from June 22 to July 6.
“I feel very privileged to be performing with the AGC,” she said.
“I started singing when I was eight years old at school and that’s how it all started.”
The Fremantle College student said the choir performed all musical genres.
“You never know what music you will get,” she said.
“My favourite genre is pop and that is fun to perform.”
East Fremantle resident Elizabeth (14), who has been in the choir since 2013, started singing when she was in Year 2.
“I joined the school choir as soon as I could and participated in a mass choir festival,” she said.
“This is the first time I have been selected for the national tour, as I was very young when I joined the choir.”
The Kennedy Baptist College student said she was looking forward to seeing different sites on the tour.
“I am most looking forward to performing in the Blue Mountains as it is a magnificent place and is very well known,” she said.
“I am also looking forward to the tour of Parliament House as Parliament is sitting on that day.”
The tour comprises girls aged 10 to 16 who will perform in Canberra, Nowra, the Blue Mountains, Wagga Wagga and Sydney. Leah Roberts
