Winter is coming and with that there can be an increase in road traffic-related incidents due to wet weather. Police will be actively targeting the safe use of our roads. If you see something say something. – Senior Sergeant Peter Arancini FREMANTLE Police are looking for a man over a brutal assault that left a homeless man with serious injuries in Fremantle. The incident occurred near Point Street, Fremantle, about 11pm on Saturday, June 2. The 61-year-old man was lying on the ground in a sleeping bag at the rear of an Adelaide Street business premises accessed off Point Street. The victim was approached by a man who then assaulted him, inflicting serious injuries to his eye and face. He was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital. The offender is described as being fair-skinned, in his 30s, about 167cm tall, with a medium build, long dark hair and was wearing a dark sweater. Detectives believe there were
several people in the vicinity at the time and request anyone with any information to call Crime Stoppers. ■ Fremantle police are looking for anyone who can identify the man pictured.
