City awards contract for weed management

Fremantle Gazette - - NEWS -

THE City of Fremantle will soon have new weed management.

Greensteam Australia was awarded a two-year contract at a recent finance, policy and operations committee meeting.

The scope of the work includes weed control of high-priority roads, Fremantle town centre and playground sand six times a year and suburban areas twice a year.

A City report said Greensteam provided the City with a high level of direct experience.

“They also demonstrated a good understanding of the occupational health and safety requirements of the scope while delivering the services in an environmentally responsible way,” the report said.

Later in the year the council will discuss chemical-free weed management.
