TWO Cock­burn RSL sub­branch stal­warts have fi­nally re­ceived their Or­der of Aus­tralia medals fol­low­ing a COVID-19-en­forced de­lay.

Sub-branch vice pres­i­dent Mal­colm Small and long­time mem­ber Arthur Stan­ton were named as re­cip­i­ents of the Medal of the Or­der of Aus­tralia for their service to youth and vet­er­ans alike when Aus­tralia Day hon­ours were bestowed.

They were due to re­ceive the medals at Govern­ment House on April 3, how­ever the cer­e­mony was can­celled due to the pan­demic.

With re­stric­tions now eased, the duo held their

own OAM In­vesti­ture at Cock­burn RSL and in­vited Vet­er­ans Is­sues Min­is­ter and RSL mem­ber Peter Tin

ley to con­duct the cer­e­mony.

The cer­e­mony was at­tended by 48 fam­ily mem­bers and friends.
