All in due time
TWO Cockburn RSL subbranch stalwarts have finally received their Order of Australia medals following a COVID-19-enforced delay.
Sub-branch vice president Malcolm Small and longtime member Arthur Stanton were named as recipients of the Medal of the Order of Australia for their service to youth and veterans alike when Australia Day honours were bestowed.
They were due to receive the medals at Government House on April 3, however the ceremony was cancelled due to the pandemic.
With restrictions now eased, the duo held their
own OAM Investiture at Cockburn RSL and invited Veterans Issues Minister and RSL member Peter Tin
ley to conduct the ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by 48 family members and friends.
