Laughs aplenty

FOR the fourth year running, the Side Splitter Comedy Festival is heading to Hamilton Hill.

This year’s incarnation of the popular stand-up event will run over two weekends in October and feature a distinctly homegrown line-up.

Headline acts include Kath and Kim’s Peter Rowsthorn, musical parody act Janelle Koenig and hypnotist Matt Hale. They will be accompanied by The Motherhood’s 2020 award-winning Fringe World show Mums Gone Wild and the return of Side Splitter favourite trio Suns of Fred.

Festival Director Julian Canny said it was one of the best all-West Australian line-ups assembled.

“With our state border still closed, there is no better time to showcase the best comedy WA has to offer and give some massive support to our local industry… it’s a win-win in our eyes,” he said.

The festival will run on October 9-10 and 16-17 at Memorial Hall in Hamilton Hill. See sidesplitter.com.au.
