Green switch for carpark

Fremantle Gazette - - NEWS -

THE much-anticipated urban forest project in Hamilton Hill should be completed in time for a public display day on Saturday.

The Greening Greenslade project is transforming an asphalt carpark at the corner of Winterfold Road and Greenslade Street into a shady community space.

Trees, garden beds and shrubs are being installed in the carpark as a result of a partnership between the City of Cockburn, The Forever Project and Urban Impact Project.

The Forever Project’s Chris Ferreira will host demonstrations on Saturday morning from 10am to 11.30am.

“As I finish the installation, people will be able to see how to adapt these principles to their own little patch of earth, turning it into an inviting, resilient and sustainable place for their own family, friends and neighbours,” Mr Ferreira said.
