A MAN who made sexual advances towards a 15-yearold girl on a train became the subject of an arrest warrant after he failed to appear in Fremantle Magistrate’s Court.
Paul Read, 29, allegedly told the teen she had “really nice t*** for a 15-year-old” and that he would “like to see them”.
He then “rubbed his groin while maintaining eye contact” with the girl, police prosecutor Acting Sergeant Keryn Turner told the court last week.
A struggle with transit guards followed and Read was handcuffed until police arrived.
The afternoon incident happened near Cockburn on a Mandurah-bound train on July 4.
The court heard Read had an extensive criminal history which included “sexual offending”.
He was convicted in his absence on charges of behaving in an offensive manner on a railway carriage and obstructing an authorised person in the course of his duties.
Magistrate Adam HillsWright imposed fines totalling $700 plus court costs of $225.90.
Read is still awaiting sentencing on charges of obstructing police and disorderly behaviour.
