Doctor in the field

Fremantle Gazette - - NEWS -

BEACONSFIELD residents are now receiving fortnightly visits from the Freo Street Doctor.

The mobile health clinic, which provides social services including medical care and emergency food relief, will make its second visit to Davis Park this Friday.

It will return every two weeks from 11am to 2pm and is available for anyone who is experiencing hardship and is unable to access a GP.

A spokeswoman for Imagined Futures, a notfor-profit organisation that runs the service in partner

ship with Black Swan Health and Red Cross, said the service was “inundated” with patients at its first Beaconsfield session.

She said the area was

made up of 97 per cent social housing properties and residents had reported experiencing complex challenges, including a lack of transport.
