Port CEO sets sail

Fremantle Gazette - - NEWS -

FREMANTLE Ports chief executive Chris Leatt-Hayter will retire next January, paving the way for a new face to lead the Port’s longerterm transition to Kwinana.

Mr Leatt-Hayter said after 12 years in the role he was looking forward to “pursuing new opportunities and interests”.

Fremantle Ports chair Ross Love said Mr LeattHayter had overseen key projects including the deepening of the inner harbour in 2010 and associated land reclamation and development of Rous Head.

Mr Love said this had significantly expanded Fremantle Ports’ inner harbour footprint and enabled it to handle the bigger container ships using the port today.

“Other key achievements during his tenure included development of the North Quay Rail Terminal and the purchase and major expansion of the Kwinana Bulk Terminal,” he said.
