POLICE who stormed a Palmyra man’s home uncovered an unlicensed German-issue World War I Luger pistol.

Police discovered the 106-year-old 9mm semiautomatic pistol in a locked safe when they stormed Ross Gordon Cupper’s home about 9am on July 6.

Mr Cupper, 65, pleaded guilty to unlicensed possession of a handgun in Fremantle Magistrate’s Court last Friday.

“Firearms of that kind shouldn’t be in the community at all,” Magistrate Adam Hills-Wright said.

He was fined $1200 plus court costs of $118.50.
