The greater the distance between the speaker and the mic, the more ‘room noise’ will appear in the recorded result. This may give a more unique, personalised sound, but your room sound might not be optimal. Adjusting both distance and cabinet volume should let you set a good balance between the source and the room acoustic. Connect the two microphone sources to two inputs on your audio interface and set up two audio tracks in your project. Record the results, listening carefully and making adjustments to your setup along the way. If necessary, adjust the timing of the tracks to ensure they coincide.
