Master KRFT

Future Music - - FILTER -

Over recent years, the iOS platform has become a great breeding ground for esoteric music making applications that make use of the touchscreen interface to break free of the traditional desktop format. KRFT, from developer Studio Amplify, is one such application. With a modular and fully-customisable interface designed around colourful geometric shapes, KRFT combines sampled drums and instruments, one-knob effects and a Live-like clip launching workflow to create a fun and creative on-the-go music-making tool. It’s a great example of an app using the iOS touchscreen to its full creative potential.

For that reason, it’s exciting to see that the latest update, version 1.5, adds full MIDI output support, allowing it to send MIDI CC message to be used to control other apps, desktop software or even hardware. There’s AudioBus 3 support too, along with Ableton Link.

KRFT is available from the App Store, now priced £14.99
